Pimping a casual summer’s day outfit isn’t that much of a big deal anymore. Fashion world’s fondness towards white sneakers is still going strong and me being a person who’s always trying to add at least a pinch of femininity to pretty much every casual outfit opted for a cute fake septum and a laced bra which I found on a stroll through Abercrombie & Fitch this time to make this a perfect outfit for a casual, sunny Saturday. 

Accessories are very often underestimated in their ability to make or break an outfit and the fascination with the small details has been coming back into the spotlight in the fashion industry as well. You’re not forced anymore to get your nose and ears pierced, if you are a coward like I am or simply can’t take the step due to your job or other responsibilities, a little fake septum or ear clip is always a good alternative. The quality does play a tremendous role though and should be considered before purchase. In my point of view those little nose rings also radiate those amazing Coachella vibes and make it possible to take the festival with you all the way through summer.

This time my team and I were a little bit more experimental and tried to be creative in terms of the style the pictures were taken in. I spent the last couple days relaxing at a beautiful resort in Italy which I’ll introduce to you in more detail in the travel vlog that will be going up on my youtube channel in the next couple days. We were blessed with the most beautiful weather and I was able to work on my tan and take a tiny break from hectic daily life together with my amazing family who I don’t get to see very often due to my busy schedule, which makes me cherish the time we have together even more. 

With the pictures below we wanted to create a vintage style matching the outfit, which is, except for the shoes, fully provided by ZARA, which has to be one of my favourite high street brands ever. The slightly blurry effect creates elegant 70s vibes and I enjoyed every second of the shoot because the location was just breathtakingly beautiful.

Last Sunday I enjoyed a lovely, cozy lie in with a cup of tea, cuddled up in my bed while the weather outside was being crazy and stormy. I went through my notes I generally tend to always make of random thoughts I’m having while sitting at uni or hanging around somewhere in-between lectures. This is also the reason why I’m always carrying at least one notebook in my bag, in addition to my journal. And then I realised that I have never done a post about cruelty free makeup before which I have wanted to write for ages. 

Especially our generation is very aware of the sadly present issue of makeup being tested on animals. Of course you can’t avoid opting for product companies sometimes which perform such cruel acts but there are a lot of alternatives that you might be interested in trying as it is definitely worth it. I don’t own products of every cruelty free brand myself obviously but I will introduce you to my favourite products I own and additionally include a list of other product companies who take care of our environment. 

I have been trying on stocking up my makeup collection by paying more attention and being generally more aware whenever I’m out shopping for makeup. 

The three items I am using on a daily basis myself are, even though the first one might not be very surprising as it’s basically my all time favourite product anyway, my Urban Decay NAKED 2 palette, my Urban Decay setting spray which I recently purchased, as well as my NARS dual intensity blush in the shade Fervor. Those of you who have followed my blog for a while might know that I purchased my NAKED 2 palette already back in 2014 and have used it ever since as I am still so insanely impressed by the amazing coverage and high pigmentation of the beautiful eye shadow shades. I am going back to Vienna for a small weekend trip on Friday and I will try to purchase the NAKED 3 there as I have almost used up all the shades and want to give #3 a try. What I find incredible is, how long it has taken the shades to be used up because as I said, I purchased the palette almost two years ago and I’m pretty much using it almost every day. So the palette’s definitely worth its money. 

I am almost equally impressed by the Urban Decay setting spray All Nighter which I purchased in travel size as I wanted to test it before getting the big bottle. As I tend to get very oily skin I have always struggled to find long lasting makeup that wouldn’t be gone after half a day. The setting spray has fortunately contributed to my makeup lasting a lot longer than before and I am honestly really happy about that purchase. 

I am not using the NARS blush on a daily basis as the colour is very intense but I love using it during spring and summer time as it adds a beautiful, pink shimmer to your cheeks and makes you look a lot healthier after a cold winter. 

Some of the products that don’t test on animals tend to be a bit more pricy but I haven’t had any bad experience with any brand I have given a try yet and in my opinion it’s worth spending a bit more money on products when knowing that no animal had to suffer during the production process.

The last couple days have been amazingly warm and my heart, which is already in full spring/summer mode, has skipped various beats ever since the sun decided to bless us with their warm rays again. I’m finally feeling a lot more alive again with the sun illuminating the world we’re surrounded by and I try to spend every spare second I have outside. 

This spring/summer season is marked by one very striking trend. The purely white sneaker are celebrating their revival and numerous well known brands like Adidas and Vagabond have jumped up on that bandwagon. It can be said that completely white trainers are undoubtedly an eye-catcher, but definitely not advisable for people who can’t be bothered with keeping their shoes clean. Because opposed to the good old pair of Converse, which only reach their cult level once they’ve been almost fully worn down and look ragged, the white sneakers are supposed to really be kept clean and sparkling white. As long as they are kept clean, they are perfect to spice up a casual outfit for sunny days spent outside and definitely draw attention to your feet as you can already spot them from the distance. Fortunately, the sneakers are available in all forms and sizes, which also eases finding the right pair, even for people like me, who are usually not the type to wear any kind of non elegant footwear. My feet are very petite, which made finding the right shoe a challenge. I have been in love with Adidas for ages but none of their shoes really suited my style and body type and made me look like I was wearing huge clown shoes. Vagabond’s design saved me from my desperation by creating a shoe that looks sporty and edgy but also delivers a female vibe, perfect for less tall people. 

Even though weather has undoubtedly improved and we’re heading towards proper spring weather with huge steps, sometimes there’s still those misty, gloomy days that always inspire me to take long, extended walks in the area of my parents’ home. In the outer borrows of the city I grew up in I almost feel like I am being taken back in time, back to the wondrous, carefree days of my childhood, in which the only thing that bothered me was if there was ice cream at home after spending the day outside. Although I’m almost 22 I still enjoy coming back to my parents’ home as it’s always a chance for me to root myself and find a tiny bit of peace of mind during stressful times.  I might be a traveller at heart and my mind and soul have found their home from home in London years ago but I still won’t ever forget where I come from, which is truly the most important thing. 

Because great things can only be achieved when your roots keep you strong and down to earth.

Spending holidays such as Easter at my parents’ place always makes me feel quite nostalgic which resembles the choices of my outfits. I tend to opt for comfortable and casual clothing a lot more than usual even though I have started to mix casual pieces with elegant pieces as my style has developed to being a lot more elegantly orientated. The casual trousers that may remind of sweatpants in terms of their shape are given an elegant touch by pinstripes covering the fabric. The comfortable combination of a simple, grey sweater and the trousers is a opposition to the laced heels but the pieces still don’t contradict themselves.

It seems that we are finally starting to leave winter behind and I am more than ready to welcome spring with open arms. This year’s winter has been full of ups and downs in terms of temperature and if I am being quite honest it has already started to annoy me.

Frankly, I am usually not the kind of person to order clothes on the internet but the wide range of clothing the website offers, covering the whole price range from cheap to expensive, has entirely pulled me in. This time, I mixed up my brand new fedora with leather trousers, which definitely belong to the most comfortable piece of clothing I have ever purchased. The highlight of the outfit are the golden heeled shoes, which I purchased on ASOS as well. A little layering does the final touch to the outfit and makes it perfect for unpredictable spring weather. The camel coloured sweater, which I absolutely adore, is used as a replacement for a parka or a coat. Try not to combine leather trousers with any other leathery pieces as it might start to look a bit over the top and I highly advice you to take your time when looking for leather pants as they really have to fit perfectly to make a good look.

Last Sunday fellow fashion blogger Alina Reinisch from lalyna.com and two of her friends hosted a flea market at their flat and I didn’t let the opportunity pass to have a look at the pieces they had sorted out. The atmosphere in the flat was homely and comfortable, snacks were offered and the clothes were presented really nicely. Overall it was a lovely afternoon dedicated to fashion.

Flea markets are a lovely possibility to purchase beautiful, trendy second hand clothes for a little price. I don’t visit flea markets very often but whenever I do it is of high importance to me to purchase clothes which may be second hand but are still of high quality. So if you decide to buy clothes at a flea market, always make sure to check the quality of the pieces you buy to prevent disappointment. What I purchased at the flea market are the patterned shirt, the grey sweater as well as the black shorts, which together add up to a comfortable but classy winter outfit for cold, snowy days.
